Why we do what we do.

We are a small but expanding team of like minded people that really enjoy the home control and home entertainment area, but are frustrated with the level of user friendliness of the control systems that are available today.

So we set out with a mission to make things better. The iPhone and iPod touch seemed to be the perfect device to use as a personal control interface for home control and home entertainment, so this became our initial target platform. The first release of our SQ Remote software is a realisation of at least some of our goals. We will put more into our future product releases.

We also believe in control in context; making control actions at the point where you have the information for your control decisions, so we are also working on versions of SQ Remote for other platforms to give you the same control experience regardless of where you are controlling your home.

Another thing that we are trying to combat is the digital replication of the multiple remote control syndrome. When having multiple pieces of home entertainment equipment became the norm, so did having 5 to 8 remote controls on the coffee table. Now that everyone is making remote control apps for their equipment, you have to jump between apps to control everything, just like before with the physical controllers. We think this is crazy. So we set out to create the ultimate remote control, and SQ Remote was born.

Our Vision: One application for all your control needs. Used on multiple platforms, sharing your configuration between your family members (on their mobile deivces) as well as on other devices throughout the home, giving you control wherever you need it.
